Details
Built originally as an open launch in 1908 by the LIFU company of Poole, Dorset, Wisp spent her earlier years in use on the River Stour in Dorset and then the Arun in Sussex, before moving to Lake Windermere during the 1980's and 90's.
She arrived in our workshop in 2001 where she spent two years undergoing restoration of her hull and complete transformation of her topsides, with new saloon featuring lantern roof, and interior fitting out with bevelled engraved windows, teak floor gratings and bespoke joinery work throughout. Also at this time her original LIFU steam engine was restored and new boiler installed.
Varnished teak side lockers with Ink blue leather Chesterfield style cushions provide comfortable seating through the launch for 10 people.
In the saloon there are also two teak cabinets, one which discreetly hides the fridge and the other fitted out for the stowage of glasses etc.
Further equipment include Clarion hi fi system, and a traditional Windemere kettle which enables water to be boiled for the making of tea and coffee.
